Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Welcome to Black Hill Public School, a vibrant, caring and inclusive small school community where every student is known, valued and empowered to reach their fullest potential. Our school is built on the values of respect, safety, and excellence, and we are proud to nurture confident, curious learners prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.

At Black Hill, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where diversity is celebrated and inclusion is embraced every day. Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to create engaging and personalised learning experiences, based on explicit teaching, that cater to the unique strengths and needs of all our students. We take pride in knowing each and every child at our school on a deep level, and being able to truly connect with our parents and carers. Our school is committed to nurturing a culture of teamwork and cooperation by offering a diverse array of academic, sporting, and cultural activities. We actively support students with additional needs and those identified as high potential and gifted (HPG) across the four domains - intellectual, physical, creative, and social-emotional - encouraging them to explore their interests and develop new skills.

We believe that strong, meaningful partnerships with our families and the wider community are essential to student success. Together, we promote a culture of continuous growth, wellbeing, equity and excellence.

We look forward to welcoming your family into our beautiful little school community and embarking on a wonderful journey of learning together!

Kylie South, Principal of Black Hill Public School
